What Are The Most Important Things Businesses Should Do In 2022? 1

Hello, 2022! ✨

We still can’t believe how quickly the past year went by and all the changes that occurred in the digital marketing realm. (We’re looking at you, Meta). We’re sure you’ve been thinking about ways to stay ahead of the game. Fortunately, you don’t have to look too far!

The beginning of the year is the perfect time to look back on ideas, campaigns, and marketing strategies that you can improve and reinvent. See what’s working and what’s not working. It’s also a great time to check in to see what has been gaining consumers’ attention around the world and what was simply a trend.

Marketing has so many components that it can be overwhelming. Good thing we’re here to help.

Hear It From Us First

Being a marketing team that focuses primarily on digital marketing, we have a lot to say about what businesses should be implementing in 2022. We can talk about marketing for hours, but this time we’ll be mindful and keep it short!

Get cozy because you’re getting an exclusive marketing tip cheat sheet from the minds of the marketing experts.

Terri says…

Assess your website’s effectiveness. Does your website convey the right message? Does it present your brand appropriately? Does it perform well (mainly in the eyes of Google)?

A website is the most powerful “weapon” the sales team has to increase awareness, build credibility, and educate your market. A website is a constant mirror of what’s going on inside your company. Is it doing that? Would prospective clients be compelled to engage with you after reviewing your content?

Aaron says…

Educate yourself on the Metaverse. Our favorite (but is it really?) social network, Facebook, is going to continue to get stronger and stronger. The Metaverse is going to be an entirely new way to experience social connection. And, as with all things Facebook, we should expect more ad opportunities.

Lisa says…

Be Mobile. Be Useful. Be Accessible. The internet is more competitive than ever before, and businesses must do these three things to stay relevant:

1. Be mobile. The concept of “mobile-first” is a few years old now, but it’s still important and foundational to every website and digital campaign. Your business must be able to be found online in a simple search and have a website that looks great on a phone, tablet, or desktop.

2. Be useful. The information you put out on the web about your product, services, thought leadership, or building trust in your expertise has to be good. Surface level and generic content are no longer enough. People want to know more, and you can make yourself stand out by providing depth, context, and the specific information they are searching for. Quality content, long-form, and getting “in the weeds” will all help your website rise to the top in searches.

3. Be accessible. Think multimedia – add videos to enhance your blog posts, add text captions to your videos, and do everything you can to make it easy for your potential customers to interact with your site.

Tiffany says…

Focus on building organic traffic to your website. Everyone is always hyper-focused on generating leads – understandably so. However, not every business understands that you can organically create leads with the right marketing program in place. You don’t always have to spend thousands on Google Ads. And if you do have a hefty ad spend, you could very well spend thousands less on Google Ads if your organic strategy were healthy.

James says…

Content. Content. Content. Businesses need to focus on developing high-quality content that cuts through the noise in their industry to deliver the right message to the right customers at the right time. A structured approach to content delivery will lead to business growth in 2022.

Megan says…

Expand your digital horizons. Small businesses should work to expand their digital footprint – whether it’s online web sales or diving into video marketing on social media. The whole world is online now more than ever, so it’s important that your business is too!

Solida says…

Engage with your community. Remember that social media is not a broadcasting system, but it is a way to engage with your community and build a relationship. The trust and loyalty within your community is the pillar of your business’s success.

To motivate you even more, keep note that approximately 35% of people find it annoying when a brand lacks personality. Yikes! No one wants to come off as annoying.

Daniella says…

Think smaller. With the growing amount of mobile users, it’s important to optimize your content for mobile view. You want to make sure that everything is easy to access and read. This includes website UX, video marketing, and social post designs!
